Your Role During The Candle Healing Process
As has been discussed throughout the site, but it bears repeating again: please know that you are eternally and inextricably connected to the four natural elements (fire, water, air and earth) because they are the compositional building blocks of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The Universal electromagnetism is the ‘vital heat’, the central sun of the Universe, the Earth and your body. This electromagnetism is both electric and magnetic, sometimes one and not the other, as the perpetual forces for energy and motion that operate infinitely through the plamsa of the air (aethers) of what is perceived as ‘empty space’. The ‘empty space’ around you is teeming with life.
Take note that the universal electromagnetism is being visibly reproduced in the flame of your candle; that flame is essentially ‘you’ or your spiritual higher self. You, the spiritual you, is the translucent arc at the very bottom of the flame before the flame fans into its various colors. As the flame lengthens it reveals other colors as well; sometimes, hues of yellow and orange and even blues. The flame is your connection with the ‘all that is’ and some people will experience the length of the flame, the splitting of the flame, the dancing and so on as their spirit guides and guardians assisting in the process.
At times it will seem that the candle flame is facing no opposition as it is steady, strong and high; other times the flame will appear to be in a fist fight as it darts back and forth, ducking and weaving. You might even notice a high, steady flame start to ‘weaken’ or ‘tire’ as its length shortens and the wax hardly seems to be melting. You want to make note of the height, the color, the movement, the smoke being produced, the noises (if any) as indications of the progress of the ceremony.
As the wax melts and pools around the wick, you will start to see patterns emerge in the glitter. Make a note of these and even take photos. You might be surprised by the images that appear in the glitter! Those glitter groupings can be quite symbolic on many levels; sometimes they reflect what is being released from your energy field and what was blocking your intention from coming through prior to doing this ceremony. And, the glitter will shift during the process from the left side of the candle to the right side; based on your intention, there are times when you might want more glitter amassing on the left vs the right side of the glass or vice versa.
And, there are times when the wick will shift towards the side of the glass as the candle burns down; I have seen this happen many times. This is when you really need to communicate with your candle and the intention that you have set and ‘will’ the wick away from the glass. You can also do this with moving the herbs, the glitter and so on through your power of electromagnetic thought. It must be done in a benevolent fashion and not through fear or control or manipulating the ‘elements’. This is always a profound opportunity for a person to truly work with the elements and, in a state of gratitude, coax them into a position that supports your intention.
These are just some of the reasons why it is so important to be near your candle throughout the entire candle ceremony. It’s imperative that you transmute all negative, dense and stuck energies through regular periods of communication with the Candle and the four elements in states of mediation and active gratitude. At the same time, it is crucial to recognize the signs that added work might be required if and when there are issues with the flame, the direction of the glitter/herbs, a moving wick and so on such that you will know it’s time to address the situation immediately to support the candle’s success.
Once all of this is finished, maybe you’ve even been present when the candle flame goes out (which is a very significant moment), you may decide that you want to fully cleanse the remains of the candle and close all portals associated with it. At that point, this is where I come in to clear and transmute all of the dense, stuck, negative energy that was in the way of the manifestation of the intention such that it is permanently cleared out of your etheric energy field and physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. You will do this by sending me a few photographs of the votive glass so that I can assess the soot as well as the bottom of the glass in as clear of a photo as possible.
It will be critical that you have indicated where the halfway marking is on the glass so that I am able to address what is remaining on the bottom of the glass, left and right, as it relates to your specific intention. In that way I can provide you with follow up ideas once this candle has been fully cleared.
Once final note: I recommend that once the ceremony has concluded that the candle's glass container is smashed and discarded. If, however, you are planning on doing a session with me, then please do not smash the glass until after our session. Obviously, when doing this, please put the glass in a paper or plastic bag before smashing it. (Some candle diviners will recommend breaking the glass container in the center of a 4-way intersection and then discard the bag in a location that you rarely travel).
Wherever you decide to discard the used candle glass and contents, it is essential that the glass is broken up. This is symbolic of having a full release of the electromagnetic energy whether or not we have worked together in a remote candle healing session. It is a matter of sending the Universe a message that you now have closure regarding this intention and have ceremoniously engaged with the elements with gratitude, appreciation and love.
Have fun with this Candle Healing Process. I wish you a great deal of success in this never ending process of personal transformation and, especially, in the manifestation of your intention.
